Studio 5 is a renowned faculty-facilitated, professional communications studio: students doing real work for real clients. It is a capstone course in Simmons University's Communications Department and gives soon-to-graduate students the advantage of hands-on experience before they begin their professional careers. As a member of the creative team, I redesigned Nia’s Impact Reports, Branding and Visual Guidelines document, PowerPoint Templates, Instagram Social Media Templates. We also created an Instagram Best Practices Guide informed by research into how competitors in the financial sector leverage the Instagram platform to engage target audiences, broaden reach, translate financial content to Instagram format, and create brand awareness.

Project Manager | Studio 5

Studio 5 (student-run communications agency) worked with the Center for Young Women's Health at Boston Children's Hospital (CYWH) to enhance its social media engagement by creating a content strategy plan. As a project manager, I identified tasks and assigned tasks to team members that ensured timely delivery of materials to the client (CYWH) and adequate turnaround times when feedback was required. I oversaw the creation of a digital content audit, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals and target audience needs, and served as a liaison between the creative team and the account team.

CommLab Instructional Assistant | Simmons University

Sept. 2023 – Present

As a CommLab Agent, I assist communications students with questions on multimedia projects, media-related coursework, and Adobe Suite software, and train students on using equipment such as professional imaging printers and a dry mount press for mounting work. I also manage reservations for equipment and specialized on-campus technology studios (Alden Trust TV Studio, Radio Broadcast Studios, Podcast Suites, Video Editing Rooms). Finally, I complete graphic design projects for instructional and educational use, including software how-to-guide, and signage.

Social Media Manager | Sunrise Movement: Simmons University Hub

September 2021 – Present

Sunrise Simmons is a hub of the national Sunrise Movement, a youth-led environmental justice organization committed to advocating against climate change and racial injustice.

As social media manager for Sunrise Simmons, I develop, implement, and maintain all strategic social media communications, public relations, outreach, and event activities and materials for the organization. I design and update all social media pages and develop a plan to consistently increase visibility of organization and organize events that increase community involvement. Finally, I collaborate with organization leaders on ongoing initiatives, most fervently, fossil fuel divestment. I’ve worked closely with my peers to develop a fossil fuel divestment campaign, meet with administration, and organize events and direct action.
