This project challenged me to rebrand an existing non-profit group. I chose Gender Equity and Reconciliation International (GERI), an organization that convenes groups of people with the hopes of fostering transformational healing and reconciliation between people across the gender spectrum.

To guide my redesign, I examined GERI’s existing brand and marketing, identified its strengths and weaknesses, and analyzed its audience demographics.

While GERI’s original logo does a good job of representing its mission of establishing gender harmony, it also visually reinforces ideas of a gender binary with the use of two disparate colors coming together to form a heart.

My reimagined logo, logotype, business card, and letterhead use a gradient and the image of three figures dancing in harmony to visually represent nuance in gender expression/experience and the indigenous belief in a third gender. The reimaged logo maintains GERI’s color scheme and features an updated font/typeface for a more modern look.
